Cette
thèse analyse les transformations des relations industrielles
verticales et plus particulièrement le glissement actuel
de la fonction de sous-traitant de premier rang, vers une fonction
de firme pivot, qui est un acteur intermédiaire entre le
donneur d’ordres et les sous-traitants de second rang. L’objectif
est de caractériser cette fonction d’intermédiation,
en se basant sur la segmentation stratégique de la chaîne
des fournisseurs et en prenant pour exemple l’organisation
industrielle d’Airbus. Deux modes de coordination "arm's
length" et "systems integration"
coexistent au sein d’une même architecture industrielle.
Le recours à l’un ou l’autre varie en fonction
de la politique d’achat et du degré stratégique
des systèmes sous-traités. L’argumentation
s’articule en de deux parties. La première revient
sur la nature des relations verticales dans le cadre de productions
complexes, en mobilisant la théorie des ressources et des
compétences. La seconde caractérise et définit
la firme pivot et analyse les transformations du système
productif Airbus, en éclairant la stratégie d’achat
et l’émergence d’un mode de coordination dual
des sous-traitants de premier rang. L’architecture industrielle
d’Airbus s’organise autour de firmes pivots. |

productive system. |

The
these aims to analyze the transformations of industrial vertical
relationships, and more particularly the current slide of the
function of First Tier Supplier towards the function of pivot
firm which is an intermediary actor between OEM and 2nd Tier suppliers.
The objective is to characterize this intermediary function, basing
on the strategic segmentation of the supply chain, made by the
industrial actors within the productive organization of Airbus.
Two models of coordination arm's length and systems integration
coexist within the same industrial architecture. The recourse
to one or the other varies according to the purchasing policy
and the strategic degree of the sub-contracted systems. The argumentation
articulates into two parts. The first one reconsiders the nature
of the vertical subcontracting relations within the framework
of complex productions, by mobilizing the the resources and competences
theory. The second one characterizes and defines pivot firm and
analyses the transformation of the "Airbus" productive
system by underlining the purchasing strategy and the emergence
of dual first tier supplier’s coordination mode. Airbus
industrial architecture is organized around pivot firms.
